A perfect setting for surrendering to the joy and flow of the tranquility gracefully given by this unique eco hermitage.
A wondrous hermitage, a dream, a destination, a life’s project by Pinelopi Grigoraki, an inspiring woman whose Cretan family has been involved in the tourism sector in Agios Pavlos for decades.
Inspiring. After many years of practicing the wonderful path of yoga, meditation, and inner search, a strong impulse for personal development and deeper integration convinced Pinelopi to create a unique shelter to feel home in an unspoilt natural scenery, ideal for relaxation and rejuvenation, regaining calm of mind, balance, and deep peace.
A mission carried out for the fullness, the enjoyment, the reconnection with personal well-being, and the revelation of one's best self through an enchanting holiday experience.
A dream of offering exclusive hospitality in a natural place of seclusion, quietness, and privacy, on this land in southern part of Crete that affords mesmerizing and meditative panoramic views of the sea, came true!
Finkidia - Agios Pavlos is situated between the areas of Plakias and Agia Galini and can be reached by driving from either Heraklion or Rethymnon along a mountain road through the villages of Akoumia or Sachtouria. On the way, you will encounter many wonderful landscapes and traditional villages.
Finikidia is named after the Cretan date palm trees of the area – a rare endemic species of the Mediterranean – also called “The Palm of Theophrastus” or “The Phoenix Theophrasti”, in honor of the Greek philosopher and father of Botanology, Theophrastus (372-287 BC), who first mentions the existence of this palm tree in Crete.
